NUC8 Black Apple Update OpenCore Boot Tutorial

Since my Apple notebook is old and I want to use the latest system, I started NUC8 early, and successfully installed macOS, using OC to boot, and upgraded from the original macOS Catalina 10.15.7 to macOS Big Sur 11.2.3, Good experience during the period. This upgrade upgrades OC from version 0.6.3 to the latest version 0.8.2 to upgrade the latest Monterey system.

Remember to backup important data before upgrading! ! !

The following is the OC boot update address maintained by the vision boss I personally use:

I only installed macOS, not dual systems.

The following records the process of upgrading OC:

1. Mount the EFI partition

Open the Hackintool software, click the Disk tab, find the system disk and click the mount icon on the right.

During this period, you need to enter a password to operate. After the mount is successful, it will change to the state shown in the following figure:

After clicking the folder icon, it will look like the following image:

Back up all files in the EFI partition, then delete all files in the EFI partition.

3. Copy the new EFI folder to the EFI partition

Unzip the downloaded latest EFI folder and copy it to the EFI partition

The default config.plist is adapted to 4k monitors. The OC resolution configuration modification has been changed to UEFI-->Output-->UIScale. The default value is 0. If the OC resolution display is not normal, it can be modified to 1 or 2 according to the situation. Try , it is best to reset nvram after each modification.

4. Migration of three codes

Open the three-code migration tool MacSerialTransporter, and replace the three-code generated by lottery when installing the system into the updated config.plist file.

Click the + sign on the right to select the new config.plist file, and then click the blue "" symbol in the middle to complete the three-code migration operation.

6. Restart the computer and clear the NVRAM

After completing the above operations, restart the computer, press the ESC key to enter the OC boot interface, then press the space bar to enter the hidden menu, and select Reset NVRAM (the new version of the OC boot interface displays this menu by default). Then the system reboots to complete the OC update.

After completing the OC update, update the macOS Monterey system normally and use it normally.
